Subject: Complaint Regarding Foreign Object Found in Lettuce – Kilburn High Road Store
Dear Customer Service,
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding a highly unpleasant experience I had with a product purchased from your store.
On the morning of 07/08/2025 at around 10:00am, I bought a pack of lettuce from your Sainsbury’s store on Kilburn High Road. Upon opening the package later that day, I discovered a live slug inside the lettuce leaves. I have attached photographic evidence of the incident for your reference.
This discovery was extremely distressing and raises serious concerns regarding the hygiene and quality control procedures in place during the packaging and handling of your fresh produce. It is unacceptable for any customer to encounter live pests in food items, especially from a major retailer such as Sainsbury’s.
As a loyal customer, I expected better standards of food safety and quality assurance. I kindly request a full explanation of how such a lapse could occur, along with a formal apology and appropriate compensation for this incident.
For your investigation, I am happy to provide any additional information, including the packaging details and batch number, should you require them.
I look forward to your prompt response and resolution of this matter.
Yours sincerely,
